JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for performing requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, verification and validation, and maintenance of enterprise custom desktop and web-based solutions for editing and reporting on geospatial databases with links to legacy systems. Analyzes and documents software requirements, prepares design specifications, develops software, creates and implements test plans. Knowledgeable of C#.Net / ESRI products / SQL Server platform. Knowledgeable of software lifecycle development processes to ensure quality applications are designed, tested and delivered. Experienced in ESRI GIS development tools and .Net development. Provides customer support during requirements gathering, systems integration and acceptance testing. This role involves technical leadership within a wider virtual team and manages locally one or more subcontracts and/or SAIC employees.
Scope: Part of a critical team developing and supporting high-quality enterprise geospatial solutions supporting a federal civilian agency’s enterprise GIS program. This position will serve as technical team member in the Kansas City location for this program with frequent customer interaction.
Minimal travel anticipated, Work location is in Washington D.C..
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 8 years of general experience. Six (6) years of general experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.
* With a Master's Degree, six (6) years of general experience is required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Candidate must have at least 4+ years of progressive C#.Net development experience using ESRI GIS components developing applications for large scale multi-user deployment for geospatial analysis, geospatial data editing and reporting in web and desktop environments.
* Extensive knowledge developing software using ESRI ArcObjects and/or ArcServer technologyis required.
* Demonstrated knowledge in developing software applications in C#/.Net / Silverlight applications is required.
DESIRED SKILLS:
* Hands-on experience with enterprise level software support with software metrics tools is a plus.
* Experience in Silverlight ArcGIS Server Web development and/or developing custom object libraries is a plus.
* Knowledge of database engineering and basic database administration with SQL Server is highly desirable.
