| | | | Job Description | Responsible for producing high quality maps to meet defined cartographic standards
while ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures; perform mapping,
editing, data conversion, geocoding, and error reconciliation within established timelines;
create and design cartographically sound hardcopy and digital maps using GIS
(Geographic Information Systems) software; ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness
of maps and data distributed internally and externally; prepare and distribute a variety of
reports as requested by supervisor; participate in the activities associated with a variety of
departmental projects including preparing reports, material, documentation, and
coordinating tasks
Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), computer science or a related field is preferred. Minimum one year customer service experience required preferably in the 9-1-1, telecom or public safety industry. Minimum one year experience using ESRI GIS software preferred. ArcView, ArcGIS, ArcInfo Workstation and MapInfo software preferred. Oracle Database Management Systems, SDO, SQL, Visual Basic, Avenue, ArcObjects and AML preferred. Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Access required.
