Job Description
Ben Venue Laboratories is currently seeking a talented and innovative Associate Director - Senior Business IS Consultant in the areas of Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain to join our Information Technology department located at our Cleveland, OH site. As a Senior Business IS Consultant, you will provide consistent and direct engagement with clients at all levels in order to gain a deep understanding of the client area needs and opportunities. You will also be required to possess a detailed and thorough understanding of the client's key business processes. Responsibilities:

*Communicate with clients in business terms (rather than technical terms)
*Design new and improved ways of working (either by creating new business processes or dramatically improving existing processes) and introducing innovation where possible
*Perform business and technical analysis as required. Influence and negotiate scope and requirements with clients to arrive at a common solution that is the best fit with the technology possibilities and will create the most value for the client as well as for the broader organization. Ensure that applications meet the current and future needs of the defined business area and that the expected business value of applications is achieved.
*Act as a business consultant, program manager and project manager, responsible for complete implementation of an initiative including planning for ongoing maintenance, support and enhancement. While this role would typically manage internal and external resources to do the programming, testing and system maintenance, it is expected that these activities could be performed directly if necessary.
*Use pilots and prototypes (of systems as well as business processes) as development and communication vehicles. Prototypes can be paper-based, presentation-based or truly interactive. The best prototypes are simple and clearly demonstrate the key processes and how they would be supported. Candidates need to be skilled and experienced in developing and using prototypes to engage users.
*Communicate the business value of the initiative to clients and to senior management clearly and simply. Colleagues need to be skilled at defining metrics and measuring the overall cost, benefit and risk associated with each project.
*Understand technical architecture for planned solutions, including system design and functionality. Manage risk assessments and secure approvals from various governing bodies.
*Establish and manage relationships with external vendors in support of initiatives. Lead and participate in vendor evaluation, RFP process and selection of software and service vendors. Understand and recommend new technologies developed by vendors that can provide effective solutions for the business need and opportunity.
*Possibly lead a small team of IS Business Partners/Business Analysts
*Ensure there is a change management and communication plan to accompany an application rollout to achieve overall project goals.
*Enhance and manage a collaborative relationship with other IS organizations locally, regionally and globally.

Qualifications:
Requirements:

* Bachelor degree required. Advanced Degree, MBA and progressive IT and/or business experience of 5-10 years are preferred.
*Strong business process knowledge in manufacturing, supply chain and quality within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and a demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business needs in this area. Must be experienced with existing commercially-available systems and applications used in this area; preferably SAP.
*Demonstrated strong leadership abilities, management skills and experience leading a diverse team of business and IT professionals in delivering results.
*Experience within the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of computer systems validation and federal and international regulations (GxP, ICH) is preferred.
*Must have solid analytical skills to understand current business processes and related technology solutions. Lead teams in process re-definition and re-engineering initiatives and collaborate with various internal and external individuals and teams to deliver technology-based business solutions that enable the business areas to achieve or exceed their business goals.
*Must have a clear understanding of system design and development techniques and prior application development experience. Must have an up-to-date awareness of information technology trends and developments.
*Experience managing consultant resources and external creative and technical personnel in a fast-paced and complex project environment. *Previous experience managing competing priorities and multiple interdependent projects.
*Demonstrated strong project and program management ability and a track record of successful completion of small to very large and complex projects.
*Strong foundation and a clear understanding and appreciation of system design, development, and implementation methodologies and all phases of the project and system implementation life cycle, validation and regulatory requirements.
*Must leverage and/or support complex systems and platforms for multiple operating units, locations, application systems, FDA and legal requirements, a high growth business and changing customer and competitor environments.
*Must give priority to both high business value and regulatory requirements.
*Influences strategic direction, goals and achievement of established business objectives within multiple functional or business area(s). *Balances the demands from clients, defining overall priorities for staff regarding projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery on commitments within the budget, proper resource allocation and complete and thorough documentation.
*Align priorities and staff activities, team member scheduling and availability of resources to support multiple business functions.
*Keep current with the constantly changing technology landscape and recommend new solutions to match the strategic objectives of the supported business areas.
