Job Summary:
High growth technology company serving Federal and Department of Defense customers seeking a qualified and well rounded person to support its customers, key staff, and local office operations. The candidate should have good cross functional skills to perform critical analysis of business processes and needs, excellent communication skills both verbal and written, technical familiarity Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and experience in Department of Defense, preferably with the US Army. The successful candidate will work as a Geospatial Database Administrator (as a contract employee) on a team providing day-to-day support, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting for 10gR2 and 11g Oracle High Availability Applications and Databases for a DoD project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain and design a RAC-enabled Oracle Spatial database used in a large-scale GIS implementation
• Review, evaluate and fine-tune database components to achieve peak efficiency within the overall network connectivity
• Develop/automate systems’ operational tasks
• Interact with Help Desk Tier 1 to assist in trouble shooting user related errors
• Provide Help Desk Tier 3 support and troubleshooting Oracle Database issues
• Be recognized as an Oracle Database subject matter expert
• Knowledge of Federal, DoD and Army regulations relating to Information Assurance (IA)
• Critically assemble, order, and evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Work independently to define concepts/requirements and under direction of project managers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
 
Job Requirements
• The ability to work on a variety of tasks in parallel, strong written and verbal communication and teaming skills, strong demonstrated troubleshooting skills, and ability and willingness to identify and implement innovative solutions to problems will be vital for success in this position
• Working knowledge of Intel Microsoft Windows-based servers, and associated automation tools
• Working knowledge of storage area network (SAN) storage systems
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• Ten (10) years overall database administration experience including a minimum five (5) years Oracle database administration experience in Microsoft Windows operating system environment.
• Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application, operational and programmatic requirements
• Experience in administrating/managing documentation workflows
• Good computer skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
• Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
• Self motivated and able to function independently
• Java or .Net server-side development experience preferred
• Familiar with database technologies and/or GIS, and/or CADD preferred
• Experience with ArcGIS Server and MapServer preferred
• Installation-level DoD experience preferred
• Experience with the Spatial Data Standard for Installations & the Environment preferred
• Oracle10G certification preferred
