| | | | Job Description | Syncadd Systems, Inc. is a rapidly growing
technology company that services Department
of Defense customers globally. Syncadd is
headquartered in Honolulu with personnel
located throughout the Pacific and continental
U.S. Syncadd provides its customers with
integrative technologies and services that
assist them with effective management of key
assets (facilities, space, inventory, costs,
organizations).
JOB SUMMARY:
The GIS Specialist will serve as a technical
lead to create GIS products and develop
special databases. The selected applicant will
work with a multi-discipline team to determine
data management and GIS needs among other
responsibilities. Proficiency with ArcGIS suite
of applications and ArcEditor 9.x is required.
Applicants should be familiar with ArcSDE,
MicroStation, Oracle, and SQL Server (or other
Relational Database Management System).
Strong writing, presentation and organizational
skills are also required.
TASKS:
Ability to assemble, order, evaluate and
catalog input imagery and ancillary data.
Create maps and graphs, using GIS software
and related equipment.
Conduct research to locate and obtain
existing databases.
Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data
from staff and determine how best the
information can be displayed using GIS.
Compile geographic data from a variety of
sources including censuses, field observation,
satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and
existing maps.
Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics
to incorporate into documents and reports.
Design and update database, applying
additional knowledge of spatial feature
representations.
Enter new map data through use of a
digitizer or by direct input of coordinate
information using the principles of cartography
including coordinate systems, longitude,
latitude, elevation, topography, and map
scales.
Analyze geographic relationships among
varying types of data.
Prepare metadata and other documentation.
Operate and maintain GIS system hardware,
software, plotter, digitizer, color printer, and
video camera.
Move, copy, delete, and add files, drawings,
and maps to output reports in hard copy or
electronic transfer.
Present information to users and answer
questions.
Retrieve stored maps.
Setup and configuration of GIS Desktop and
server products.
Motivated and able to function independently. | | | | | Job Requirements | College Degree
2 years of related experience
Installation-level DoD experience preferred
Familiar with database technologies and
GIS, Remote Sensing, and/or CADD preferred
Experience in defining, implementing, and
monitoring QA/QC processes preferred
Experience with the Spatial Data Standard
for Installations & the Environment preferred
Experience with Army and/or DoD Business
Systems preferred
Good computer skills; Word, Excel,
Powerpoint, Project
Good oral communication skills
Excellent writing skills
Customer Service skills
Self motivated and function with minimal
