| | | | Job Description | Assist a DoD client with updating and administering an enterprise geospatial database. Improve GIS data management and loading processes through ArcSDE Geodatabase administration, tuning, configuring and script writing services. Develop procedures and technical documentation to maintain geospatial data in an enterprise implementation, aid in the maintenance of the geodatabase, and apply technical and programmatic knowledge of GIS. Execute the responsibilities of a GIS Data Manager supporting a headquarters level DoD Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) Program, which include:
• GIS technical leadership and system administration of an enterprise ESRI ArcGIS environment.
• Data preparation, loading and management in an ArcSDE/Oracle environment.
• Script writing for automation of routine GIS tasks and procedures.
• IGI&S Data Model support and migration.
• Communicate standards, methods, quality assurance/control processes, and metrics required.
| | | | | Job Requirements | The following are desired capabilities and experience of the potential candidate:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, or IT related field
• Proficiency with ESRI software products and data formats
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS environments including ArcSDE and Oracle
• PL/SQL and script writing experience
• Data management and administration experience
• Experience in SDSFIE
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Knowledge of DoD and Federal GIS Standards and Policy
• Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems
• Experience in DoD Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) or other DoD installation functional areas
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
