Job Description
Assist a DoD client with implementing GIS policy and procedures. Improve GIS business processes by supporting GIS data collection quality assurance, FGDC and SDSFIE standards integration, and implementation of a verification processes. Develop procedures and policy to maintain geospatial data in an enterprise implementation, aid in the maintenance of the geodatabase, and apply technical and programmatic knowledge of GIS. Execute the responsibilities of a GIS Analyst supporting a headquarters level DoD Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) Program, which include:

• Understand DoD organization, direction, structure, and requirements
• Document and analyze process flows, makes process improvement recommendations and develop solutions
• Integrate and update technical standards
• Consult with DoD clients; facilitate and/or lead business issues solutions
• Develop quality assurance plans and iterative improvement processes
• Prepare data standards, metadata and other documentation
• Communicate standards, methods, quality assurance/control processes, and metrics required
• Liaison between multiple stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate needs for business processes, policies, systems, and outcomes
 
Job Requirements
The following requirements are desired skill sets and capabilities for the potential candidate:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, or related field
• Proficiency with ESRI software products and data formats
• Experience in SDSFIE
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Knowledge of DoD and Federal GIS Standards and Policy
• Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems
• Experience in DoD Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) or other DoD installation functional areas.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
