| | | | Job Description | The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical project leader who can manage the delivery of technology solutions and undertake the following responsibilities:
1. Design and implement GIS standards, goals, objectives and priorities.
2. Implement and oversee GIS application development and hardware and software acquisition.
3. Serve as the GIS/IT technical leader and point of contact on all GIS technology and related matters
4. Create, check, refine, merge, and analyze data layers, charts, graphs and maps.
5. Correct for errors introduced when merging data sets from multiple sources.
6. Coordinate database development activities and gather and edit GIS data.
7. Import, review, and enhance GIS data including development of, and linkages to, related data in database or spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Access or Excel, or Google Maps.
8. Develop and implement methods for tracking the status of data collection and review.
9. Identify, design and document methods and procedures for expediting data collection, and data quality assurance.
10. Implement quality assurance for GIS data developed both internally and by outside organizations.
11. Develop, implement, coordinate and maintain internal technical standards for.
12. Operate and maintain GIS hardware and software and develop and/or modify application software and /or related sub-system application software.
13. Participate in additional division activities that may be assigned from time to time.
| | | | | Job Requirements | Bachelors Degree with a minimum of eight (8) years experience. Shall be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Shall possess good written and verbal communications skills. Shall have sufficient knowledge of proper English grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation rules to identify errors and make corrections as errors are encountered. Shall possess a current and unrestricted driver's license. Candidate will be required to travel frequently. Must be familiar with Microsoft Products, Google Earth & Maps, Oracle, PL/SQL, ESRI products. Ability to drive a POV within a 100 mile radius when required.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a favorable Public Trust (NAC). | | |
