| | | | Job Description | 5 years of programming or testing experience. Formulates and defines test cases based on system requirements and specification. Devises or modifies procedures to test a unit or a system as a whole. Perform test cases, documents the result, and tracks changes. Prepares detailed specifications from which program bugs will be corrected and follows up with additional tests to ensure proper functional and system behavior per spec.
Tests software of moderate complexity to ensure quality through the use of systematic tests. Experience in development, modifying, and evaluating software test plans used to design, implement, test, and optimize software. Selects appropriate methods and techniques to resolve issues. Maintains and drives continuous quality improvement in meeting internal and external customer requirements. Communicates and coordinates with managers, external test organizations, other peer testers and developers to build alignment between cross-functional groups. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Bachelor's degree or 4 years equivalent experience required (computer science, computer information systems, or related field).

- Sets up test environments, executes tests, records results and defects, and works with developers to reproduce problems and get them resolved
- Reviews test plans and test cases based off of functional, design and requirements specification
- Develops test reports indicating the testing purpose, tests conducted, test constraints, test observations, test results, and release recommendations
- Maintains and drives continuous quality improvement in meeting internal and external customer requirements and maintaining awareness to meet ROI
- Interprets program activities and reviews program schedules to ensure the appropriate tests can be accommodated
- Follows prescribed test processes, procedures and customer use cases
- Analyzes and reproduces problems reported by customers and/or Customer Support
- Serves in a test lead capacity on programs of moderate complexity, where direct consultation to program managers is required and coordination of the efforts of other test team members may be necessary
- Strong knowledge and experience with test methodologies, QA processes, and software release cycles
- Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate test methodologies including writing test plans and test cases
- Solid knowledge of Operating Systems and networking
- Strong knowledge of release procedures and software defect tracking
- Solid proficiency in test effort estimation and tracking
- Experience with automated test tools is a plus
- Experience with Rational RequisitePro ClearQuest is a plus
- Software testing experience for the DOD is desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
- Software Testing certification is a plus
- Minimum 5+ years of software or system testing experience
- At least 2 years experience in a software release cycle
- Must be able to pass a background investigation
