This is a Position-Specific recruitment for a fulltime, Skilled Service vacancy with the Maryland Department of Planning in Baltimore, MD. This position has been reopened if you had previously applied for this position please do not reapply.
SALARY RANGE: $40,048 negotiable $51,860 progressing to $63,929 (Grade 16)
State Employees' Furlough and Temporary Salary Reduction Plan.
CLOSING DATE: June 24, 2010
POSITION DUTIES:
This position will build, maintain and revise dynamic Web-based geospatial applications in support of planning-related initiatives and projects. This position will work primarily with the Land Use Analysis Unit of the Department, but may assist in application development department-wide. Related duties include, but are not limited to: identify and develop requirements; support hardware and software architecture and configuration; develop and maintain systems and project documentation; author and deliver end user training.
| | | | | Job Requirements | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Management, Information Technology or other related field such as Geography, Planning, etc. with specific coursework in the structure and use of automated information systems.
Experience: One year of experience providing problem analysis and ongoing user support, coordinating system development and implementation, and training users on the functionality of applications for agency or statewide systems housed on mainframe computers or large client server platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Java, Javascript, JSP, C#, .NET. Experience with object-oriented programming principles. Experience with Rich Internet Application (RIA) design. Experience in n-tier web development within a team environment. ArcSDE/Geodatabase model experience. Experience in developing geospatial solutions with Google Earth and Web map API's, including Bing, Google, ESRI, and Yahoo
