Role Summary/Purpose
The Senior Smallworld GIS Consultant for Mobile Applications supports mobile and GIS products including GE Field Force Automation and GE Smallworld GIS. In this position, you will:
Essential Responsibilities
Provide GE Field Force Automation, Smallworld GIS and/or utility mobile system technical support and consulting services to clients and internal development teams
Act as a technical subject matter expert for mobile work and field force automation application configuration, design, development and implementation
Deliver solutions to clients
Demonstrate and promotes excellence in all aspects of implementation; including design, coding standards, testing and documentation
Demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills through submissions to conference presentations
Coordinate and participates in the design and development of software applications using appropriate programming languages
Gather user requirements and performs system and application design
Participate in development of training materials and delivery of training as appropriate
Review technical designs and other project deliverables
Lead requirements and design workshops
Manage specification development
Ensure that technically sound solutions are being developed and delivered to clients
Take ownership of a complete track within a large software implementation project
Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex mobile work, GIS and related software solutions for clients

| | | | | Job Requirements | Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or minimum of 4 years field experience
Minimum of 5 years development experience as part of one or more complex implementation projects
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40% of the time
Knowledge of mobile technology, J2EE, Web Services, Oracle and development methodologies
Oracle database administration experience
Ability to develop and refine SQL queries in Oracle
Java programming within IBM WebSphere or JBOSS J2EE environments

Desired Characteristics
Specific expertise in Smallworld GIS technology and experience with Field Force Automation
Experience with mobile work related business process and business development experience
Advanced degree or minimum of three years relevant work experience
Good problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills and able to discuss complex technology in a clear and concise manner with a variety of audiences | | |
