Role Summary/Purpose
The Smallworld Telecoms Principal Consultant will be responsible for implementing the GE Smallworld Physical Network Inventory and Logical Network Inventory products for telecoms and utility Smart Grid customers. In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities
Provide GE Smallworld Physical Network Inventory, Logical Network Inventory, and Network Inventory Gateway product technical support and consulting services
Gather user requirements and performs system and application design for Telecoms and Smart Grid customers
Act as a technical subject matter expert for telecoms application configuration, design, development and implementation
Lead Smart Grid solution implementations from the technical perspective at electric utility customers in North America that utilize GE Energy telecoms and electric utility products
Demonstrate and promote excellence in all aspects of Smallworld implementation; including design, coding standards, testing and documentation
Participate in development of telecoms and Smart Grid training materials.
Deliver training to customers as required
Participate in identifying new technical or business opportunities for GE Energy to investigate and develop
Demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills
Provide direct mentoring support to new employees on telecoms products

| | | | | Job Requirements | Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering OR minimum of 4 years relevant work experience with a high school diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years experience with telecoms asset, engineering and operational systems
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability and willingness to travel as required

Desired Characteristics
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Technology Management
Demonstrated capability to architect, design, and implement systems and system integrations for telecoms and Smart Grid customers
Recognition in the Telecoms industry through presentations or papers and project accomplishments
Knowledge of telecoms operational support systems, customer information systems, and Smallworld products integrated to these systems
Ability to mentor employees new to telecoms and Smart Grid products and solutions.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to discuss complex technology in a clear and concise manner with a variety of audiences
Development, project management and technical leadership skills
Strong telecoms domain knowledge and solution architecture
