| | | | Job Description | | VANDEWALLE & ASSOCIATES is seeking a qualified individual to fill a GIS/Cartography Technician position. Daily tasks vary in length and complexity but generally focus on map creation, data manipulation, and cartographic conventions. Strong attention to detail is required to maintain the established high cartographic standards. Multiple map revisions, minor edits, and deadlines are common. This position will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of urban and regional planning projects and will be an excellent opportunity to gain further cartographic skills within a dynamic and professional working environment. | | | | | Job Requirements |
Minimum requirements include an Associate’s degree in Geography, GIS, or related field, plus work experience in the field. Experience using ESRI ArcGIS 9.x software is also required, with an understanding of basic cartographic mapping techniques and conventions being essential. Applicants must have strong computer and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize time efficiently, meet deadlines, follow directions, work in teams, and learn by example. Knowledge of Wisconsin and Illinois geography; experience in Access or other database software, spatial analysis, and web mapping/programming preferred.
