| | | | Job Description | ARD, Inc. (http://www.ardinc.com), a Tetra Tech company, is recruiting a Geospatial Technology Specialist. Working in a team of GIS professionals, the incumbent will support a DC based Federal Agency in implementing an ambitious initiative to make Geospatial Analysis a core business element for future planning and reporting purposes. Full-time contract will be for one year with potential extension for a further two years. Position is based in Washington, DC.
The Geospatial Technology Specialist’s responsibilities will include;
-- Assisting Agency staff in multiple locations with the development and delivery of GIS based management support solutions.
-- Further develop best practices and standards to assist Agency staff wishing to better utilize GIS in for their specific purposes.
-- Support the creation of a broad range of cartographic products, often at short notice for multiple government representatives. | | | | | Job Requirements | Requirements:
--Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Geography or IT related field
--Advanced knowledge and experience in the application of GIS technology including spatial analysis and quantitative methods
--Well versed in spatial information processing and management
--At least 3 years experience in GIS analysis and map making using ESRI software.
--Analyze and interpret spatial data to produce maps, reports, and other products.
--Understanding of GIS data models, standards and metadata.
--Able to explain to Agency staff in non-technical language requirements and solutions.
--When necessary be self-directed but also work well within a team environment.
--Master’s Degree in Geography or IT related field
--Excellent writing and communication skills
--Travel internationally approximately 40% of the time.
--Obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
