| | | | Job Description | ARD, Inc. (http://www.ardinc.com), a Tetra Tech company, is recruiting a Data Management Specialist. Working in a team of GIS professionals, the incumbent will support a DC based Federal Agency in implementing an ambitious initiative to make Geospatial Analysis a core business element for future planning and reporting purposes. Full-time contract will be for one year with potential extension for a further two years. Position is based in Washington, DC.
The GIS Data Management Specialist’s responsibilities will include;
-- Establish a mechanism and series of protocols to retrieve data holdings from a range of partner organizations.
-- Prepare geospatial data layers for integration within an Enterprise level data management framework.
-- In collaboration with stakeholders, design and deliver a series of relevant data models
-- Administer an RDBMS in which geospatial data will be managed.
-- Document and communicate data standards, methods, and quality assurance/control procedures throughout the Agency. | | | | | Job Requirements | Requirements:
-- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Geography or IT related field
-- Proficiency with ESRI software products and data formats
-- Experience administering an RDBMS for geospatial data management
-- Extensive enterprise level data management and administration experience
-- Excellent writing and communication skills
-- Minimum of three years professional work experience
-- Ability to travel internationally approximately 20% of the time.
-- Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems
-- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
