| | | | Job Description | ARD, Inc. (http://www.ardinc.com), a Tetra Tech company, is recruiting a Web Mapping Specialist. Working in a team of GIS professionals, the incumbent will support a DC based Federal Agency in implementing an ambitious initiative to make Geospatial Analysis a core business element for future planning and reporting purposes. Full-time contract will be for one year with potential extension for a further two years. Position is based in Washington, DC.
The Web Mapping Specialist’s responsibilities will include:
-- Publication and management of database-driven, on-line maps demonstrating the location of Agency activities.
-- Develop guidelines and tools to assist remote offices establish interactive mapping presence on the Internet.
-- Regular technical support as needed to multiple remote Agency offices implementing web mapping applications.
-- Design and document standard web mapping system architectures and instructional materials for use by remote Agency offices. | | | | | Job Requirements | Requirements:
The following are desired capabilities and experience of the potential candidate:
-- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Geography or IT related field
-- Proficiency with ESRI server software products and data formats including ArcGIS Server and the Geospatial Portal Toolkit
-- Experience administering database driven web mapping applications
-- Demonstrated and current programming ability with Java Script, HTML, Flex, Silverlight, Flash as well as the Google Maps API
-- Excellent writing and communication skills
-- Minimum of three years professional work experience
-- Ability to travel internationally, approximately 20% of the time.
-- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
