| | | | Job Description | SDI is actively pursuing motivated, high energy individuals to join our team as a Sales Account Manager. In the business development role, you will be responsible for selling GIS services and products to state and local government agencies and utility companies by developing and managing client relationships telephonically and in person.
The Sales Account Manger is responsible for identifying, developing and closing business opportunities, developing long-term customer relationships, leading proposal development efforts, and other related sales activities. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of GIS services and software product sales processes. | | | | | Job Requirements | Summary of essential job functions
· Responsible for prospecting, identifying, and securing business opportunities to support revenue growth.
· Assist in the creation of sales strategies and execute account plans in support of goals/objectives, to include cold calling, on-site visits and demonstrations.
· Maintain knowledge of SDI products & services, GIS industry news and competitor products.
· Assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of marketing and advertising strategies for all SDI products and services.
· Leverage industry knowledge and customer relationships to understand complex customer requirements on both a business and technical level.
· Work closely with technical resources to develop custom presentations designed to demonstrate SDI solutions.
· Assist in the development of articles for publication, describing SDI projects and products.
· Conduct background research on prospects to better understand their business needs and how SDI may properly address their requirements and be a competitive factor in their need for services and products,
· Attend conferences, workshops and networking opportunities to assist in the promotion of SDI.
Minimum requirements
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing, or a technical field.
· Two or more years of outside direct sales experience with a focus on GIS software and/or related service.
· Working knowledge of ESRI software products.
· Experience working with governmental organizations and/or utilities.
Abilities required
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· High energy, ability to self motivate, and a passion for communicating the benefits of great products to partners and customers.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
· Ability to establish and build relationships quickly with all levels of management.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other desktop publishing software.
· Travel is required for this position.
