| | | | Job Description | MDA Information Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer / Web Developer
This position supports the management and delivery of geospatial information over the Internet. The position is responsible for providing technical leadership and support to the customer as they identify datasets and other products for distribution. This position requires a highly-motivated individual with a willingness to learn who can work in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
Essential Job Functions
* Develop geospatial web application to facilitate the selection and access of data sets
* Provide technical support to meet client needs to incorporate geospatial capabilities in multiple systems
* Application development using the full suite of ESRI products
* Maintenance and upgrades of existing client geospatial portals
* Provide mentoring support for junior staff developers | | | | | Job Requirements | Required Qualifications
* Knowledge of open-source and commercial products supporting geospatial web development
* Understanding of Open-GIS standards and principles and the ability to apply them to meet customer needs
* Expert knowledge of the fundamentals of geospatial principles and capabilities
* Expert knowledge of the ESRI product suite
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of staff and clients
* Ability to create macros and stand-alone programs for data input and basic processing
* Ability to create and perform real-time query to other data vendor databases, based on client selection via the web interface
* Ability to leverage creative thinking and innovative ideas to turn customer ideas into working prototypes and products
* Ability to work well independently and within a team
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet client-driven deadlines
* Ability to use time efficiently to prioritize, manage competing demands and plan work activities to meet client-driven deadlines
* Excellent work ethic
* US Citizenship and eligibility for US Security Clearance are required
Desired Qualifications
* Basic to Moderate understanding of Web Enterprise Suite XI
