| | | | Job Description | Position Title: Geographic Information System (GIS) Program Manager
Location: Colorado State Forest Service State Office ¡V Fort Collins
Hiring Range: $45,000 ¡V 55,000 per year
Employment Status: This full-time appointment will be as a Colorado State
University Administrative Professional employee (which includes full benefits)

Minimum Qualifications:
„X A bachelor¡¦s degree in Forestry, Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or other Natural Resources-related program is required.
„X Three years of professional GIS experience that includes the use of ESRI ArcGIS pertaining to Natural Resource Management; geoprocessing and spatial analysis skills; design and maintenance of geodatabases; and the use of GIS data in a networked environment.
„X Two years of professional field forestry experience, including forest management, wildfire, insect and disease, and forest measurement
„X Successful applicants must have a valid Colorado¡¦s driver¡¦s license or ability to acquire one upon employment
Roles and Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Staff Forester, the GIS Program Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the CSFS GIS Program. CSFS GIS Program management includes: providing analysis of geospatial data through the management of the agency¡¦s reporting system; geoprocessing, design and maintenance of geodatabases; use of GIS data in a networked environment; providing analysis of geospatial data for all agency projects, partnering with other agencies through sharing of geospatial data layer information, maintaining current and reliable information as GIS changes occur or may affect CSFS. The Program Manager will also conduct regular training events for CSFS users across the state and develop training materials to be utilized by all levels of users. The Program Manager also supervises GIS technicians as funding permits and needs demand.
All CSFS personnel are encouraged and at times required to seek, pursue, and accept other duties as assigned for their professional development; for agency-wide committees, taskforces, and special projects; and when requested by their supervisor.
Required work hours are irregular. Evening and weekend duties frequently arise and in order to conserve time and/or funds, we often need to arrange work and travel time in patterns that can produce long days and/or involve overnight travel.
