| | | | Job Description | This position will be part of a 11 member, GIS, database, web development team in the GIS Solutions and Services Group at URS Baton Rouge.
Will provide support by independently performing assignments with instruction regarding the general results expected. Will receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
This position will report to the GIS Manager under the supervision of the GIS Project Manager.
This position will provide internal support to project managers for GIS-based products such as map exhibits and reports | | | | | Job Requirements | Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Environmental Science or related field.
2 years of experience with ESRI-based GIS software. Must have a knowledge of cartographic principles, under supervision, contributes to database design or geodatabase and system development, and compilation and analysis of geographic data. Must be familiar with raster and vector geospatial data. Must be familiar with handling spatial data and coordinating systems within an ESRI software environment. Must be able to create, analyze, report, convert, or transfer data using GIS software.
Must be familiar with ESRI-based ArcMap software and related extensions (Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst).
Within an existing GIS group, must be able to work independently, yet within a team environment that benefits the overall mission of developing a sound, professional GIS practice of quality services and innovative solutions.
Must have some knowledge of GIS and GPS data. | |
