SR. GIS PROGRAMMER ANALYST/DEVELOPER
(DT Information Technology Specialist IV)

Job Description: Will report to the ITG Information Delivery Solutions (IDS) Application Solutions Manager and is responsible for day-to-day onsite implementation of GIS for ADOT. The role provides direct customer support and project management to a variety of business lines. This involves needs assessment & workflow analysis, data development, spatial analysis, map production, GIS related software development, maintenance, and/or upgrading existing applications, and training users. This is not a supervisory role.
 
Job Requirements
Knowledge of:
*GIS data development, editing and quality control procedures.
*ESRI spatial data formats and the editing/correcting of spatial
data using ESRI tools.
*Relational Database Management Systems (SQL Server).
*Software development methodologies and design techniques.

Skills in:
*Using ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS desktop).
*Programming applications using IIS, ASP.NET, C# (or Java), JavaScript, HTML,
Python, or ArcObjects.
*Using Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft Office products.
*Oral and written communications skills.
*Troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of technical issues.

Ability to:
*Implement GIS technologies, specifically ESRI, in an enterprise environment.
*Analyze business processes and migrate to GIS.
*Maintain GIS applications, updates, patches, licensing at the desktop and server levels.
*Work productively with a wide range of people.
*Provide on-call support for numerous GIS/Mapping related applications on a 24x7 basis.

Ideal Candidate: Will possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Geography, GIS or related field from an accredited college/university, or 5 or more years equivalent working experience in implementing GIS technologies, specifically ESRI, in an enterprise environment.

Preference is given to candidates who possess a master's degree and/or prior experience supporting government clients in an IT environment.
