SpecTIR Analytical Solutions (SAS) of Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking a highly motivated mid to senior level Spectral Scientists with TS/SCI clearances to work on unique and rapidly evolving multi-source projects supporting DoD and Intelligence Community Activities.
Successful candidates will be encouraged to recommend and implement alternative processing and analytical techniques that have been garnered from a combination of previous experiences and innovative thinking.

Assist analysts and peers in developing an understanding of hyperspectral (VNIR/SWIR/LWIR) sensor science
Assist in developing a robust spectral processing and analysis capability
Provide hyperspectral data analysis for specific tasks
Participate in hyperspectral imagery remote sensing operations
Instruct and train analysts and peers in hyperspectral analysis techniques
Fuse multi-/hyper-spectral phenomenology with other sensor modalities to solve hard target problems (ie. EO, LIDAR, and/or SAR)
Assist in developing multi-sensor fusion target detection algorithms and tools
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Current DoD TS/SCI clearance
BS in Math, Physics, Geology, Engineering or other equivalent field
6 years experience in multispectral or hyperspectral data exploitation
Strong research and development (R&D) background
Proficient in use of typical analytical software tools (e.g. ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, Socket GXP, etc.)
Working knowledge of imagery sensors (operational characteristics/limitations)
Programming experience with C/C++, Matlab, and/or IDL
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Math, Geology, Physics, Engineering or other equivalent field
Experience in algorithm development with hyperspectral sensor data
Experience in supporting/performing ground and/or airborne field collections
Operational DoD and/or Intelligence Community experience
Willingness/ability to travel to multiple locations overseas and hazardous duty areas | | |
