Career Band: Associate Professional
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Project Managers/Coordinators and Technical Managers in planning control points, project design and set-up
Process and prepare tabular graphical data
Enters data from source materials – Collects data from pipe and facilities database, interpret the data and enter data into a relational/spatial database
Operators are to ensure thorough and complete capture means according to project requirements of accuracy and standards for scope of service
Collate, Plot, Trim alignment sheets and prepare for mailing
Conduct basic routing of pipeline data
Creates graphic files by means of DTM, centerline, digitizing or scanning
Ensure that products meet all accuracy requirements as identified in the client’s specifications
Report to project coordinator project problems and or completion of work task requested
Perform extra duties by direction
Minimum Skills and Experience:
High School diploma
Ability to sit at and operate graphics workstation for majority of shift
Willingness to work either day or night shifts as needed
Ability to apply mapping skills related to GIS such as cartography and alignment sheet generation
Must be PC computer literate with MS Office Suite experience
Must be able to work independently, on shifts, without constant supervision
Working knowledge of spatial mapping tools
AutoCAD or Microstation experience
ESRI ArcGIS experience
Desired Skills and Experience:
1 or more years experience in the geospatial industry.
Solid understanding of GIS and photogrammetric processes
Stereo compilation or ortho production experience
Geography degree or AutoCAD certificate
