GIS Geoserver Map Setup

Job Description

We are currently setting up the geoserver 1.6.4 together with open layer and shape files from TeleAtlas Maps loaded into postgis db.

For the last steps of our project we would need some fast and reliable expert help for the right configuration of the feature types and WMS to generate "beautiful" maps out of the vector data we have.
What experience in setting up the Geoserver (especially feature types) do you have?
