| | | | Job Description | SEI has an immediate opening for a GIS Project Developer on a federal contract. Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and tools for designing and managing implementation of enterprise GIS architectures, including web enterprise architectures, in the context of large-scale, complex enterprise IT architectures. Ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
• Ability to work in a flexible manner to respond to evolving customer needs
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to write and speak about technical topics to both colleagues and non-technical audiences.
• Posses strong problem-solving skills and provide technical expertise to customers to ensure customers requirements are met within budget and timelines
Additionally, the candidate must have the following technical expertise:
Expertise in the design, implementation and development of web-based GIS applications
Expertise with using ArcIMS 9.2 and Javascript, VB-scripts and HTML to customize and deploy web-based interactive mapping/reporting applications; experience with ArcObjects and ArcXML; experience with ArcGIS server 9.2
Experience using ArcSDE 9.2 spatial data through web-based applications
Experience using SQL query development and optimization for web-based applications
Experience with development and use of web services within .NET and /or Java
ArcGIS server, ArcIMS, ArcSDE installation, administration and maintenance
Experience with map production with ArcGIS desktop ( ArcMap, ArcEditor, ArcToolbox)
5 or more years of computer programming work experience
2 or more years .NET Programming (C# or VB) experience
Skill with development tools and programming languages for VB.Net/ASP.Net environment, including database design and development (SQL Server), web application development, and enterprise applications integration middleware.
Experience with AJAX
Experience with other relational DataBase software (Oracle, MySQL)
Qualifications
1. Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, computer science, geography, public administration, or related field.
2. Minimum 6 years designing or implementing GIS enterprise architectures, including service oriented architectures, framework data architectures and web enterprise architectures.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary principles and practices of geographic information management and information technology systems, including systems design and development.
4. Extensive knowledge of ESRI GIS software product line, including desktop, server, web server, and development products.
5. 6-10 years GIS project management experience. | | | |
