| | | | Job Description | SUMMARY
Produces a variety of high quality geographic and demographic materials for marketing purposes; Knows and uses well Geographic Information Systems (GIS) fundamental concepts, practices and procedures; with an emphasis on analytical work. Supports education, communication and marketing of capabilities; as well provides analytical support to both internal and external clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Consult with sales professionals to define project requirements, investigating various approaches to attainment of end result
2. Develop advanced specialized maps, utilizing geographic and demographic information
3. Mentor the activities of GIS Technician including support for analytical mapping jobs for production; provide support and assistance for extra workload as needed.
4. Fulfill Team Lead responsibilities in the absence of GIS Team Lead.
5. Assist Mapping Center GIS Manager, Training Specialist and GIS Team Leads with training and communications efforts.
6. Educate internal and external clients about GIS capabilities and resources; seek end-user/customer input regarding additional geographic services and enhancements to existing services and processes
7. Consult with and advise sales professionals and management on geographic information available, analytical projects, and higher end products
8. Extract demographic information from various databases for use in maps or reports
9. Maintain library of previously designed material for future use
10. Assist with analysis, research, design, and implementation of all mapping tools, templates, standards, and software as well as create a knowledge base of standard templates and techniques
11. Obtain and maintain accurate market data (i.e., existing and proposed locations of office buildings, malls, shopping centers, retailers, etc.) for their assigned offices
12. Proactively search for new & different data and sources of data, integrating this data in real estate applicable mapping uses.
13. Log and prioritize work assignments using the Mapping Order System
14. Assists with Mapping Center quality control processes
15. Adhere to company policy on quality assurance and quality checks
16. Ensure compliance with Company standards regarding availability of information, consistency of finished products, correct use of Company logo, etc.
17. May include some programming, graphics, and database skill sets.
18. Other duties as assigned
| | | | | Job Requirements | QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with a major or minor in Geography or related field; or Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with training in GIS technology; or two or more years related GIS experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE and COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy/procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and professional journals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and sales professionals.
COMPUTER/ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply operations such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Advanced proficiency in MapInfo Professional (or similar application), word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of GIS terms and definitions, real estate terms and definitions, real estate analytical methods required. Proficiency in MapInfo or Atlas GIS and GIS-related technologies required. Knowledge of Company information systems preferred. Ability to travel.
