GIS Forester
This is a great opportunity to gain cross-functional exposure to the diverse people and responsibilities that connect forest management, inventory, engineering and harvest planning at Weyerhaeuser. In this primarily office-based role (with limited field time), you’ll provide training and support to novice system users in managing data flow to and from Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Additionally, you’ll benefit from developmental opportunities to participate in the WTL Forest Resource Integrated Skills Development Process.
| | | | | Job Requirements | Requires a B.S. in Forestry, Natural Resources, GIS or equivalent; 2 years of related experience applying integrated GIS and resource database management using ESRI GIS applications (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcSDE); experience with aerial photo interpretation, map reading, map production, GPA and/or remotely sensed data; and
proficiency in MS Office Suite of applications. Ideal candidate is a self-starter with exceptional planning, problem-solving and organizational skills, and a strong commitment to safety, stewardship, customer satisfaction and teamwork.
