DESCRIPTION:
This person will be working with a team of engineers that are responsible for developing graphical applications in the areas of geospatial visualization and geospatial networking. They would be responsible for designing and writing well structured optimized code according to the company’s coding standards. The job requires that the developer stay on top of the latest developments in computer graphics algorithms, networking technologies for streaming data over the web, and other Web 2.0 technologies used for visualization (e.g. AJAX, Flash, etc)
RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Develop software designs/architecture according to industry best practices
• Develop components and applications following the company’s coding standards
• Contribute to the definition of product requirements from a technology viewpoint
• Develop product prototypes during product definition phase.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest computer graphics algorithm research.
• Help maintain the software during its life cycle.
REQUIREMENTS:
• BS/MS/PhD in computer Science, Computational Geometry, Engineering, Mathematics or other scientific majors
• 2 plus years experience in computer graphics
. Degree in Computer Science,
. Minimum of 3 years of software development and system software design experience since obtaining BS degree (1 year after Master’s degree)
. Experience with 3D geospatial data (LIDAR, DEM) or other 3D graphic / visualization models
. Very strong skilled in mathematics
• Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows development and C++.
• Must be a highly motivated team player with good communication skills.
• Working within an Agile development team a plus
• Experience with JAVA/J2EE a plus
• Experience developing cross-platform applications a plus
• Experience developing Flash applications a plus
. Analytical and problem solving skills
. Excellent working knowledge of C++ programming and OO design
. Good verbal, writing and documentation skills
• Prior experience designing/developing client/server architectures
Desired Skills:
. Software system design and architect experience is highly desirable
. Microsoft C#/.Net programming experience
. Experience in implementing image processing algorithms
. Knowledge of data fusion from multiple airborne sensors.
. Relational Database experience
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading system planning and architecture development for an advanced interactive GIS software platform and data fusion engine for airborne multi-sensor remote sensing applications. Candidate must be highly-motivated and self-driven, willing to accept challenge and responsibility from inception to final end-product delivery while working with experienced remote sensing scientists. Job requires the candidate to have strong mathematical background and analytical skills, and have experience in developing state-of-art visualization software for commercial applications.
Appropriate experience in alternative industries, such as simulation, gaming and virtual world creation, will be considered as relating to development and coding of visualization / 3D technologies. | | | | |
