| | | | | | | Job Description | MAJOR DUTIES:
Collects GIS related data out in the field
Performs work related to the operation and maintenance of the City's Geographic Information System (GIS)
Assists with the editing and maintenance of spatial databases
Ensures the accuracy and completeness of digital data and maps
Assists with updates and changes to reports and maps as necessary.
May prepares GIS maps for use by various City departments
Develops and maintains positive and constructive working relationships with City employees in various departments
Performs other related duties as assigned
| | | | | Job Requirements | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, working knowledge of ArcGIS 9.x and skill in map creation using cartographic techniques
Creating and editing spatial and attribute data using ArcMap/ArcEditor; spatial data editing in ArcSDE environment a plus
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals, perform accurate and timely data entry, read and comprehend technical information, provide effective customer service, and establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with City employees and the public
Current college student or recent graduate with a concentration in GIS, geography, or a closely related field. GIS/Cartography certification desirable but not required. Previous GIS project work experience using ESRI software (ArcView, ArcMap, ArcGIS, ArcSDE) a plus
Possession of a valid Colorado driver's license
