General Questions
  Who is Four15?
Four15 LLC specializes in .NET, GIS, mobile and database driven applications. We also do web services and hosting. If you have a similar project, we can help. Please send us an inquiry.
Whey are some contact fields hidden on the resumes?
Resumé posters have the option of hiding certain contact information from the web. Qualified employers can still view this information. Please see below for more information.
Why would a job-seeker hide contact information on their resumé?  (relates to question above)
All privacy settings are optional. However, there a couple of good reasons to choose them.
    a.  Employees looking to leave their current position may want to hide this fact from their current employer. At the highest privacy levels (see privacy section below), registered employers can only contact a job-seeker through an email form. The email address and other contact information is never shown.

    b.  It can prevent an email address from being recorded and used for unscrupulous purposes such as spam. An email address that is hidden can still be viewed by qualified employers.

    c.  Since access to locked fields is only allowed to qualified employers, any interest shown in your resumé will be by those who are serious about hiring. Please remember there is no way to control who is viewing your contact information if the fields have not been protected.
Aren't you just trying to get job-seekers to protect their contact information so employers have to pay to see it?
No. The privacy options were requested by users who didn't want to expose their personal information to search engines and email harvest tools. As well as supporting the site, the fee acts as a brake against misuse by ensuring that those who have access to your information are serious about finding an employee. The contents of all resumés are always fully viewable so those interested are able to review the information before any purchase is needed.
  How are the keywords used?
On our view resumés page, the keywords pulldown works both as a standalone filter or together with the other pulldowns. Resumé posters can choose up to 6 of these keywords from a list. Note: These keywords represent 6 areas of expertise that are chosen by the job-seeker. There is no weighting assigned to individual keywords.
What is a Reference ID and how is it used?
Each job ad and resumé posted on our site is assigned a unique reference id. If you have posted a job or resumé you can navigate directly to it by using the reference id as part of the url. For instance, a job with a reference id of GC-TTDMZNU can be directly accessed like this: (useful for linking to...)
I have a Geography/GIS website, can I link your site?
Yes. All we ask is that you link to the home page. GIScareers.com
Posting Jobs
As an employer, do I have to register?
There is currently no charge for posting a job. To do so however, you must first create a posting profile. Follow the register link at the Post Job page. If you come across a resumé that has all its contact information protected, you can buy 1 month increments of browse time to view the protected fields. The cost is $50 US. Note: One purchase unlocks all resumés with protected fields. You can purchase browse time through the 'My Account' page once you have created your posting profile.
Once I have registered, how do I post?
If you have registered, click on the Post Job button at the top of the page. You will see a form prompting you to enter your username (email address) and password. If you need to register, click the "Register Now" link above the login form. There is also a link to the Post Job form on the 'My Account' page.
What does the and   mean above the logout button?
If you see the key, it means protected fields on resumés are now unlocked. It will appear whenever you are logged in for the duration of the time you have purchased. If a stack of coins appears there, it means your Posting Profile has unlimited job posting capability (default).
Can I edit the Ad I posted?
Yes. Once you have an Ad, there are three methods to make changes. These are Edit, Delete and Refresh:
Edit:
You can edit the content of your job postings at any time. Click on the My Account button at the top of the page and login with the username and password from your employer profile. You will see a list of the jobs that were posted under that profile. Click on the job that you would like to edit. Once you have made your changes, click on the Update button to see a preview of the updated job listing. From here, you can click on Edit to go back and make more changes or click on Finish to finalize your changes. Editing your job will return it to the top of the listing on the View Jobs page. Note: Though you can edit the contents of your job postings at any time, the job will only float to the top of the listing once within a 48 hour period (Also see Refresh below).

Delete:
If the advertised position becomes filled, you can delete the job at any time. To do this, click on My Account at the top of the page. Log in with your employer profile. Click on the job you wish to delete. You will see options to Edit, Delete or Refresh the job. Click on Delete and Confirm your choice. It's gone!

Refresh:
The procedure for refreshing a job is nearly the same as Editing only no changes are made. Refreshing a job simply returns it to the top of the job list on the View Jobs page. Note: As with Edit above, the job will only float to the top once within a 48 hour period.
Can I post a job not relating to GIS?
Our goal is to provide an effective job board for the GIS community and therefore we prefer that jobs posted on the site are in some way eco/spatial/engineering or GIS related.
Posting Resumés
Is there a charge for posting my resumé?
There is no charge for posting a resumé on our site.
Will my resumé expire from your site?
A resumé that remains un-edited or un-refreshed (see question below on editing) will expire after three months.
What privacy options are available if I post my resumé?
We have created a flexible and optional system to provide privacy for your resumé. The table below outlines these options.

Note: You can apply these settings to your Email Address, Name, Phone Numbers and Street Address
Setting Appearance Notes
Visible Normal Your information will appear as normal.
Protected Only employers who have registered with the site will be able to view the information.
Hidden Not Shown Choose this setting if you prefer to remain anonymous. Your information will not be displayed under any circumstances. Note: If you choose this option for your email address, registered employers will still be able to send you a message through a webform. However, the address itself will not be visible.

These settings are optional. No matter what configuration you choose, you can still be contacted by employers who have registered to view protected fields. Please click here for more on privacy settings.
Can I edit the resumé I posted?
Yes. As with job posting, there are three methods to make changes. These are Edit, Delete and Refresh:
Edit:
You can edit the content of your resumé at any time. Click on the My Account button at the top of the page and login with the username and password you specified when you created the resumé. You will see your resumé(s) listed upon login. Click on the resumé that you would like to edit. Once you have made your changes, click on the Update button to see a preview of the updated resumé. From here, you can click on Edit to go back and make more changes or click on Finish to finalize your changes. Editing your resumé will return it to the top of the listing on the View Resumés page. Note: Though you can edit the contents of your resumé at any time, it will only float to the top of the listing once within a 48 hour period (Also see Refresh below).

Delete:
You can delete your resumé at any time. To do this, click on My Account at the top of the page. Log in with the username and password you specified when you created the resumé. Click on the resumé you wish to delete. You will see options to Edit, Delete or Refresh the resumé. Click on Delete and Confirm your choice. It will no longer appear in the resumé list.

Refresh:
The procedure for refreshing your resumé is nearly the same as Editing only no changes are made. Refreshing your resumé will return it to the top of the list on the View Resumés page. We included this functionality as a way to help promote active job-seekers. Note: As with Edit above, the resumé will only float to the top once within a 48 hour period. This is to keep some measure of diversity in the list itself.
