| Forest Mapping Technician | North State Resources, Inc. (NSR) | | April 2008 - Present | Sacramento, CA | This is a contract position with the US Forestry Service (Region 5 - CA) Remote Sensing Labratory (RSL) in Sacramento. Member of a 4 person vegetation mapping team. Primary duty is assisting with the numberous vegetation mapping projects throughout California using ArcGIS 9.3.1, digital imagery, aerial photography, and field verification.
• 2010 - Field Lead for the Southern California National Forest field assessments for post-fire species regeneration. Data collected using Trimble GeoXT GPS units.
• Lassen, Plumas, Tahoe National Forest vegetation update for change related events. Portions of Lassen required 100% cover update for improved imagery from 30 meter to 5 meter clarity.
• 2009 - Southern Sierras Project - vegetation update for change related events
• Field assessments of the Tahoe and Plumas National Forests using Trimble GeoXT GPS units for data collection
• 2008 - Northwest Forest Plan - vegetation mapping update of both private and public lands

• California Avocado Commission 2001 Field Crop Inventory: conversion & update project from manual to GIS format. Served as a photo interpreter and with field verification of the crop acreages for San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, & Ventura Counties.
• Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) sub-contracted to AIS in 2001 for their Ohio State Marion County Full Conversion Project. 10-key data correllation, quality assurance, annotation editing of converted data from the manual drafting & digitizing stages. The objective of this project was to create a countywide systematic parcel numbering system to replace the county’s existing parcel numbers.
• Los Angeles Department of City Planning’s 1998-2001 Zone Map Automation (ZMA) Project: data conversion of land attributes into numerical codes using 10-key data entry as a part of manual drafting. I was a part of the manual drafting and digitization team. |
