Responsibilities also include training junior geologists, project generation and selecting new areas for precious and base-metal exploration.

Worked as an Exploration Geologist in Rio Tinto Exploration India Ltd based at Bangalore from 16th December 2002 till June2006, to explore new diamond pipe deposits in India. Work involves geological and geomorphologic mapping using satellite imagery, collection of gravel, soil, and auger samples for searching for indicator minerals in the preliminary survey. In the advanced exploration phase, geochemistry of various rock and soil samples for finding out primary sources for diamond resources, based on geophysical investigations, provinces comprising kimberlitic/ lamproite suites of rocks and interpretation of mineral probe results along with ground geophysical surveys. Elaborated experience in mapping and geochemical sampling methods, drill target identification. Worked in parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh states of India. Extensive work experience in diamond and as well as RAB drilling, litho logging and chronostratigraphic correlation, different types of core sampling, analysis and interpretation of results, pre-feasibility profile studies and safe methods of drilling. Was a team member in the discovery of diamondiferous lamproite pipe, Central Province,India. Logged >3000meters of Kimberlite core and supervised about 19 & 200 diamond & RAB holes respectively. Extensive use of GPS and GIS systems (MapInfo 7.5, Geosoft 5, ERMapper), digital terrain models, database maintenance and management. Experience in camp establishment, management and supervision in remote field areas. Working experience under HSEC system of international standards and formulated several SOPs. Worked as a Senior Consultant from 1 January 2002 to 14 December at Geo Information Systems & Technologists (GIST), Hyderabad, India recognized by the Department of Space, Govt. of India. Work involved geological mapping, geostructural delineation, geomorphologic mapping and hydrological data collection in the field with the aid of satellite data. The data collected was integrated to prepare Groundwater Target Zone Mapping. By virtue of thier multiplicity these maps can be used for different applications for sustainable development. Conversion of the spatial geo-technical data to digital form was done by GIS software like ERDAS and Arc\Info. Other responsibilities included geo-environmental surveys, civil foundation studies.
