2007 - Present Phoenix, Arizona
Information Services Project Manager: IS/GIS Support Group

Managed the creation of a new statewide Transmission GIS Program which integrated LiDAR data collection technology and many types of imagery into a new Enterprise Transmission GeoDatabase.
Managed the Transmission GIS Vegetation Management Application Creation – developing a new ArcFM Mobile application and GeoDatabase that incorporated data collected from LiDAR including Transmission Facilities, Access Barriers, Encroachments, Fences, Ground Contours, Overhead Line Crossings, and Permit ROW width polygons.
Managed the project intended to link GIS and Maximo 7.0 as an asset management system
Supervised and worked with vendor to coordinate aerial flights during all LiDAR data collection projects.
Managed a “Water Resources Project” which included development of a new Enterprises GeoDatabase to be used in ModFlow water modeling for state wide use by Generation Facilities (Coal and Nuclear).
Management responsibilities included: Researching previous projects, estimading project sizes, identifying stakeholders, tracking project issues and action items, developing project schedules, budgets, and managed use cases.
Developing project work authorizations, project effort / cost estimates, project charters, putting together work requirement teams, collecting business requirements and system requirements, managing concept architecture development, high level design development, detailed design development, tractability matrixes, and project close outs
Supervised test planning, test case development and UIT testing
Helped write and negotiate contracts, conducted interviews and setup review committees.
Senior GIS Analyst Elpaso Gas
2006 - 2007 Birmingham, Alabama
Data management, analysis, and conversion. Helped to develope the new GIS Dept. within the Birmingham, Alabama office of Elpso Gas which was at the time recently purchased by Southern Natural Gas. Assisted in integration of Elpaso Gas and Southern Natural Gas GIS systems.
GIS Project Manager/Senior GIS Analyst Alabama Power
1996 - 2006 Birmingham, Alabama
Senior GIS Specialist / Project Manager

Assisted in Charting the direction of the Southern GIS Group in the areas of GIS and remote sensing.
Managed multiple projects simultaneously; requested proposals from data providers.
Interviewed and selected contractors.
Some projects of note included:
Managed:
Southern Company Wind Farm Location Analysis – Utilized sea bottom contours, available transmission facilities (subs and transmission lines), sea depth data, sea bottom soil types and consistencies data, hurricane path data, buoy sensor locations, buoy wave action data, shipping lane paths, and historic wind direction data to do facilities sitting of potential wind farms.
Transmission Vegetation Management – developed new application that incorporated vegetation stand, potential vegetation problems, transmission facilities, and land features into a system that would assist the foresters in ROW vegetation management.
Landcover Analysis/Classification - Middle Chattahoochee River Valley and 8 major hydro-electric project lands throughout Alabama.
Thermal Analysis – Using Landsat 7 imagery analyzed discharge canal areas downstream of Alabama Power steam plants and produced discharge temperatures.
LiDAR Analysis - conversion of LiDAR data to Digital elevation model and TIN formats for slope and aspect analysis, and contour interpolation. This data was used for predictive modeling, marketing and land holdings to perspective industrial customers for their facilities construction, and identification of suitable areas for recreation planning.
Project Management/Senior GIS Specialist:
GIS Analysis/Mapping – determined the true flood extent of the 500 year flood events of 1993 in Alabama and the true flood exents of the 1995 floods in Alabama using LiDAR, satellite imagery, USGS DEM and supervised land cover analysis.
Timber type analysis - Alabama Power statewide timber land supervised classification using aerial photos and satellite data (Alabama Power is the largest land owner in the state).
Archeological site predictive model - utilized GIS analysis on many reservoirs in Alabama during draw down conditions and created a new methodology which utilized soils, water, land cover, slope, distance to water, prominent land features, wave action, and existing archaeological site locations to identify threatened Archaeological sites and predict the locations of unknown archaeological sites for testing. The new methodology was used to meet state and federal regulation in the re-licensing of 8 Alabama Power Company reservoirs.
Sensitivity Analysis - utilized hydrology, transmission data, road access, vegetation, and slope data to identify best locations for facilities construction.
Change detection – utilized on hydro project lands to determine areas where unauthorized shoreline construction had taken place. This required analysis of temporal imagery and change detection.
Enterprise GIS - planned and developed new system for efficient data storage and utilization.
GPS and Base station ground control collection – utilized for all hydro lands in order to determine Alabama Power Company property corners, established new recreation properties and facilities, mapped locations of newly discovered archaeological sites, provided tracking to location of pre-defined areas, ground truth LiDAR elevation data, determined distribution pole locations for territorial legislation, and mapped head and foot plot locations within submerged cemeteries within reservoirs.
Air Quality Analysis – utilized elevation data, stack location, stack height, weather and other internal data to determine CO2 discharge impact areas.
