PROJECTS / RESEARCH EXCECUTED
1)P.G. Diploma in Geoinformatics Project Work (Duration:- 2 months) :“Probabilistic Flood Inundation of Brahmaputra River Using ASTER DEM” (The satellite imageries of Landsat ETM Pre-flood (March 2008), ETM Post flood (September 2008), ASTER DEM and Ancillary data were used to simulate flood inundation at Lakhimpur District in Assam using CCHE2D hydrodynamic model and probabilistic Flood Hazard Maps were generated).
Softwares used: CCHE2D Mesh Generator, CCHE2D-GUI, Arc-GIS 9.3, PCI Geomatica 10.2 and ERDAS IMAGINE 9.3.
2)Ph.D. Research Work (Topical Research) (Duration:- 6 months) : “Artificial Neural Network Models For Forecasting Groundwater Levels” (Monthly rainfall (Sulur station) and monthly ground water level data (5 observation wells) for 13 years (1995-2007) of western part of Noyyal River basin of Tamil Nadu was analysed and Artificial Neural Network models were developed to predict water table depth fluctuations of the study area.
3)M. Tech Research Work (Duration:- 1year) :
“Stochastic Modeling of Ground Water Status Of Noyyal River Basin” (Monthly ground water level data of 11 years (1995-2005) of 47 observation wells of Noyyal River basin in Tamil Nadu was analysed using time series analysis and stochastic models for forecasting ground water levels were developed for head, middle and tail reaches of Noyyal river basin).
