| Project Fellow | CENTRE FOR EARTH SCIENCE STUDIES | | Oct 2009 onwards-still working | Akkulam,Thiruvananthapuram | Working as project fellow for an ongoing research project entitled "Environmental Impact Assessment of major settlement Distribution patterns and the infrastructural development with an emphasis on Drinking Water and Transport in Thiruvananthapuram District,Kerala.
The aim of the project is to study the impact of environmental aspects of major settlement distribution pattern and the infrastructural development with an emphasis on drinking water resources availability and utilization.
The objective of the project is to assess the environmental factors as relief, geomorphology, climate, weather and their impact on major settlements with special reference to drinking water availability and distribution in the study area
Major work done for this project:
Taluk wise detailed map has prepered,
Block level map also prepared,
Panchayat level map is prepering-
Cadastral level information system is developing
also trying to prepare physiography map of the district.
Soil map is also preparing.
Landuse,land cover ,geomorphology also generated.
20m interval contour also digitised from 1:50000 scale toposheet for the district.
Slope map,relief map, aspect map were generated from Dem (aster data)
GPS survey is also using .
well map of thiruvanathapuram district has prepared from gps points and compared with that of (1:50000)toposheet.

Vegetation Analysis
Drainage density
Erosion prone areas
Slope Analysis
DEM creation,
Identification ground water potential zones
