In this project MWH processing thousands of storm drains drawings into a geographic information system to better monitor asset management in San Diego, California, US. The project includes converting storm drain related drawings into San Diego’s geographic information system (GIS) to alleviate a backlog of work and provide city officials with a more comprehensive picture of their storm water system.
The GIS- an electronic system which captures, stores, analyzes and manages data linked to specific locations. The sources for the San Diego Storm Water Drainage Data Conversion Project are the As-Built drawing files. The project involves Digitization & Attribution of As-Built sheets.
